BMCNE Volunteer Positions
Would you like get involved and work beside a bunch of fun “British car” people? Now is your chance.
Tech Session Coordinator
British Motorcars of New England is an active club and we work to keep our members active, even during the colder, non-driving, seasons. We do this by offering 3 types of activities: Tech sessions, Shop tours and G.A.P. Sessions. November and December, we try to have at least 1 activities per month. January through April, we try to maintain 2 activities per month, 1 every other week. At these events BMCNE supplies the coffee and donuts.
In the past, the Tech Session Coordinator would set the calendar and then work at filling the dates.
- Tech Sessions: Club members or local experts sharing mechanical and detailing tips and techniques These are sessions that are setup to a club member share a skill they posses, such as welding, mechanical, paint, etc. If it is a welding tech session, the instructor will share reasons for welding, different kinds of welding and maybe even hands on experience.
- Shop Tours: Visits to local businesses that offer services, materials or products for the British car hobby.
- G.A.P. (Garage Assistance Program) Sessions: The Garage Assistance Program are club visits to members garages to help keep winter projects on course. BMCNE can schedule a 3 hour Saturday morning session in a club members garage to help them solve a problem that has sidelined their British car. Contact us for details.
When recruiting outside vendors or suppliers to offer a shop tour, I stress that BMCNE has about 300 members, and each session will gather about 10 to 30 members. It is a great way for our club to promote local businesses that supply goods or services to our British car hobby. The only thing we ask is a place to setup our table for donuts and coffee.

Friday Night Cruise Coordinator
Friday Night Cruises: The BMCNE geographic area is from southern Rhode Island to Boston and from Worcester to Cape Cod. It is a very large area and we like to make it convenient for all club members to participate in all activities. Attleboro seems to be a good central point. Being such a large area, we encourage club members to scout local meeting locations in their areas. These can be coffee shops, bakeries or (most popular) ice cream shops. Once a member has selected a potential meeting location, they need to contact us and we can help them organize the meet up.
