Annual Winter Holiday Party will be held January 19th at East Greenwich Veteran Fireman’s Hall 12:30-4:30 for paid members. There will be a gift swap so bring a gift if you want to participate

The financial aid of $2,000 will be presented to the New England Tech second semester student as selected by NEIT. Pat Sykora and Tom will present the award.

Knudson Churchill Scholarship
- Up to 4 – $5,000 scholarships awarded to students in the fields of print journalism or automotive technology. Monetary award to an accredited post-secondary school of winner’s choice

- This opportunity is available to any student who applies and:
(a) Demonstrates an interest and potential to succeed in the field of print journalism or automotive technology;

Frozen Clam Dip scheduled for January 1st at Goddard Park
Winter Holiday Party; Al North shared that our annual Winter Holiday Party with be held at East Greenwich Veteran Fireman’s Hall on January 12th. Time to be confirmed but likely 12:00- 5:00.
Bristol Show; Ernie Connor confirmed the date is June 6th, 7th. Austin-Healey will be the Marque in 2025. Ernie brought up the idea of improving on our ballot counting process to improve timeliness and ease of process using technology to assist. Jim Levesque shared one option that can be done using cell phone to scan QR codes. There are other options that use an app. Some members would like paper ballots still. A group will get together soon to assess option

New Business: – The Mansfield, MA Rotary Club Vintage Japanese Motorcycles, Classic British/German Car Show and Aircraft Fly-in is on track for Saturday September 28th 10:00-2:00 at Mansfield Municipal Airport 565 Fruit St. Mansfield, MA. See website for details

“Brits, Brews and Euros too” event Taylor Brooke Brewery Woodstock, CT, Oct 19th, 12:30-4:00.

New England Tech is holding a Career Day with 7 Technical high schools invited. BMCNE has been invited to attend Oct 25th to share knowledge/answer questions in the Automotive Tech area.

We discussed if anyone has a car to donate to a vocational high school we could assist students in repairing. School could auction.

Holiday Party is tentatively scheduled for January 18th at East Greenwich Veteran Fireman’s Club. Details to follow

Tom brought to our attention that we need more sponsors for our show and some clubs do fundraisers throughout the year. More to be discussed.

Our Zoom account membership has been renewed and members can sign up to use if they want to hold a Q&A for Tech questions with members. We use Zoom to hold virtual meetings when inclement weather is forecasted

40th Anniversary party at Diamond Hill park was a HUGE success! Roughly 100 attendees, many new members who expressed interest in getting involved with BMCNE and 50 LBC’s on site. Made for a nice car show and great time with friends Thanks to Mallory, Mike and all the volunteers who help bring this together.

The 2025 Bristol show Marque is Austin Healey
A $500 Scholarship will be presented in the Fall to Paul Furtado, Technical Assistant Automotive Technology at Coventry High school to award to student(s). They are open to having one our members come and speak to the students.
$ 5000 proceeds from 2024 Bristol show, including from sponsors, will be donated to 5 Food Banks/Pantries. $1000 donated to each of 5 food banks that were selected from those suggested by members and randomly drawn. The food banks are;
o North Kingstown Food Bank
o Westbay Community Action Food Pantry
o RI Food Bank
o Northern RI Food Pantry
o Our Daily Bread Food and Resource Center

Charley Robinson shared that he had contacted the Piston Palace Museum in Warwick. It is a private museum dedicated to automobilia. BMCNE could tour the museum in the fall for a private tour.
Tom asked attendees to consider what charities we want to support with the Bristol Show proceeds and confirm at next meeting.

Regalia: A design has been chosen for the 40th anniversary logo of the club. It will be on dashboard plaques for the first 200 early registrants, in color and in black and yellow on a T-shirt which will be sold at the show. Woody is doing the silk screening. The coloring will be similar to the MG T-shirts we sold last year.
We are not ordering any new golf shirts or T-shirts to sell this year. Hope to sell what is remaining in stock. We’d like to come up with some new offerings for next year.

Tom has created a relationship with Bristol Plymouth print department and was able to reduce some of the show printing from a quote of $700 to $40.
Will ask the print department to create 2- MG 100 anniversary banners for the show entrance. The 2 banners will be auctioned off in a silent auction the day of the show. These should make some great garage art for some MG owner.
April 29th is a Cars & Coffee at Cardone & Daughters in Old Saybrook CT. BMCNE attendance is encouraged as they are one of our show sponsors and have offered swag tor the show bags.
The new MGT Chapter Coordinator is our own Charley Robinson. Charley will be working with developing the relationship between BMCNE & the MGT Register. Charley will be getting the register to contribute show swag for the show. Coasters & LED flashlight keychains. Charlie congratulation on your new high paying role and for looking after BMCNE in the process!
